Phil - Network Analyst
I was introduced to TSYS through a friend. I joined TSYS in January 2003. We're a small team who have a focused and dedicated approach to our work. Due to our "service delivery" work ethic, my working days are not repetitive, kind of structured and unpredictable at the same time. As with any IT design/support role, you need to be committed, long days and nights are not uncommon.
A day in the life of Phil Shand - Lead Network Analyst - Knaresborough.
09:00 - Rush to attend the morning call. Catch up with any service delivery issues that may have occurred overnight. 09:15 - Make a cup of coffee and have a chat with my team members. 09:20 - Catch up on some E-mails and check calendar. The phone rings... 09:25 - Continue with project from the day before. 12:00 - Lunch, we've got options here ... Gym, table football or do nothing? 13:00 - Resume work, the project is finished, I've an appointment with a service supplier at 2pm. 13:45 - Network status (US morning) call. Our team liaise with colleagues who are in the US, this courtesy call happens most days. 14:00 - Meet supplier. Successful meeting. 16:00 - Start new project - Network Design Strategy. The phone rings ... it's a client requesting some information. 16:30 - Resume project. 17:30 - Prepare to leave for the day. The phone rings ... it's the helpdesk. 18:00 - Leave for home. Back to top
